Retirement Planning -- An Un-Othodox Approach

Stop!!! All I hear or read about is 401k’s, Roth IRA’s, IRA’s, pension plans etc. Don’t get me wrong, retirement planning, using these tools are extremely important but there is another way to plan for your retirement. I just read a comment on a retirement planning forum from a 23 year old who had saved 20 thousand dollars for his retirement and was asking people on the forum for advice and whether he was doing the right thing to plan for his retirement.

This got me to thinking. Why are people looking at retirement planning only one way. Which is:

- Using government of financial services products only to accomplish their retirement planning objectives.

Retirement planning should be about how you can increase your wealth and life style. Not just putting away a certain number of dollars per year :

- Based on a retirement calculator that assumes inflation is X and that the investment Y (401k, IRA, etc.) grows at a rate of Z. over the next 20+ years.

Don’t get me wrong I am not saying you should not include these tools when you are developing your retirement plan. They are a must. What I am saying is that you should consider becoming an entrepreneur and developing a business that will provide additional income which will enhance your retirement life style.

How do you do that? Build a business on the internet. Ok, I can hear you now. “I don’t know anything about starting and running an online internet business” and I believe you. But don’t let that be a cop-out, because you can learn. The internet provides another option to retirement planning and one which can add to your financial resources after you’re retired.

There are many different opportunities to plan for increased retirement income using the internet as a retirement tool. Add this tool to your retirement calculator and plan a retirement that includes increasing your retirement life style instead of just trying to maintain it. Go to Building Your Own Retirement Business for more information.
