Early Retirement Business Strategy

Stop Listening to Your Friends

Let me tell you my thoughts about listening to friends when you are trying to do something that is new.
  • They will tell you why it won’t work.
  • They will tell you all of the horror stories about others who have failed.
  • The will cite media stories of the problems and failures.

Don’t listen to them unless they can contribute to your success.

Become a Success Thinker

Attitude, belief and perseverance are three of the most important tools you can have when building your internet retirement business.

I define a Success Thinker as a person who is committed to their growth both personally and through business ownership. That person will invest in information and knowledge to build their personal and business skills especially if it will accelerate their business growth.

This is very important point for those of us who were taught to work all our lives for someone else because being a Success Thinker requires a different mindset.

Become An Internet Entrepreneur

Become an internet sponge. Learning how to become a successful Internet Entrepreneur is not hard, it is just a lot of hard work but I think it is worth it. The internet has come a long way over the last few years. It use to require a strong technical knowledge but today you can setup your business faster because you can learn things like affiliate marketing techniques.
That may require hard work, a good attitude and perseverance but I think it beats working for someone else.
Have A Five Year Retirement Plan

Being a successful internet entrepreneur requires a plan. Each person has different knowledge and skills when they decide to build their internet retirement business and to be successful you must have a plan to define your internet business, identify your strengths and weaknesses, define other resources and develop a five year plan to success.

Manage The Tensions In Your Life

I read a blog recently which talked about structural tension.

The author defined structural tension as:

  • The gap between where you are right now and where you want to be and is responsible for generating creativity.
The caveat is:
  • As long as you don’t let negativity become the driver of your thoughts.
Make no mistake, attitude, belief and perseverance will all be required to keep the creative juices flowing. Negativity has no place in building a successful early retirement business.
For additionl information go to Build Your Own Retirement Business.

To your success.

You're absolutely right! Everyone will always tell you what you CAN'T do and why - you just can't listen. It's usually just an extention of their own fear - don't let someone else's fears be your own.

Great points!

I agree that we need to surround ourselves with people that will motivate us to be stronger. People that will not bring us down. Great job.

Following a divorce I am starting out broke and unemployed (at 44 years), jobs in the pipe that are at my same previous level so I could be making 100k€ again pretty soon, but getting rid of the debt she created will be hard. Retirement is a distant thought so I have been working on James Brausch's Freedom Business System to help me fill in the gaps she created in the bank.

Not sure if someone thinks about divorce as a bad invstment when they are 30, but believe me, it kills you financially. Even tho' the judge said the judge called her at fault I still lost everything. Think ahead now, yee of 30 years.

I LOVE this post! "Dream stealers" as they are called have no place in our lives. If they are friends and are unsupportive, do we really want to hang around them? If they are family members, we can still limit contact to their negativity.

One thing we always need to do is to consider the source. In fact, my mentor, James Brausch talks about this from time to time at his blog.

Great post! Keep them coming!
